Graduate Credits for Full Time Status

The chart below will provide graduate students guidance on the amount of credit hours needed to be considered a full time student.

For a 3-week course:

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits and above = Full time

 For a 4-week course:

1 credit = ¾ time

2 credits and above = Full time

 For a 5-week course:

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits = 3/4 time

3 credits and up = Full time

 For a 6-week course:

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits = 3/4 time

3 credits and up = Full time

 For a 7-week course:

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits = ½ time

3 credits = ¾ time

4 credits =  Full time

 For an 8-week course

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits = <1/2 time

3 credits= ¾ time

4 credits = Full time

 For a 9-week course:

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits = <½ time

3 credits = ¾ time

4 credits =  ¾ time

5 credits and up = Full time

 For a 10-week course:

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits = <½ time

3 credits = ½ time

4 credits =  ¾ time

5 credits and up = Full time

 For a 16-week course:

1 credit = <1/2 time

2 credits = <1/2 time

3 credits = <1/2 time

4 credits = <1/2 time

5 credits=  1/2 time

6 credits = ¾ time

7 credits= ¾ time

8 credits and up = Full time
